Ayda

A passive sensor that knows an approaching drone by its sound and warns seconds ahead.

A passive sensor a soldier carries that recognizes an approaching drone by its sound and warns seconds ahead. It emits nothing, so it doesn't give itself away, and it hears fiber-optic drones too.

Data diversity is everything

A model trained on one set stalled at 0.55 on the other. Augmentation didn't close the gap; adding a second, different source gave 0.95 and 0.97 on both sets.

If one sensor drops, another carries it

Acoustic, direction, proximity, passive RF and vision layers combine with a noisy-OR. In the scenario, when acoustics missed, RF took over and gave a bearing of northeast 45°.

From TEKNOFEST to SSB

Çelikkubbe and the startup program, then TÜBİTAK and SAHA, then SSB (Turkey's defense industry agency). Position: a detection and warning sensor. Neutralization stays with authorized integrators.

Why not a jammer

A jammer is illegal for civilians, doesn't bring a drone down but only cuts its link, does nothing against fiber-optic drones, and a transmitting device makes itself a target. Passive detection saves the same life and does none of that.

Why Ayda

The name comes from Ay Ata, the Moon Father of Turkic mythology. In old Turkic belief the sky holds Gün Ana, the Sun Mother, and Ay Ata; it is Ay Ata who lights the night and watches over the sky in the dark. In the Oghuz Khagan epic, one of Oghuz's six sons is named Ay, the Moon. Ayda watches the sky too: it knows a drone by its sound before anyone sees it, and it keeps watch day and night.
